The Stuff I’m Not Worried About (Yet)

Because not everything about AI is scary.
I’m not worried about AI “replacing” my kids’ ability to think. Calculators didn’t make us bad at math. Spell-check didn’t make us bad at writing. Tools change how we work, but they don’t eliminate the need for thinking.
I’m not worried about AI becoming sentient and taking over. That’s science fiction, not 2026 reality.
I’m not worried about my kids using AI tools for creative projects. My daughter used an AI image generator to design characters for a story she’s writing. That’s awesome. It’s like having an art assistant.
The key is balance. And awareness. And teaching kids to stay in the driver’s seat.
What I Wish I’d Known a Year Ago
